Hello, my name is Madi.
I collect donations to enable children with a migration background to have a small summer party.
My four year old son & I are friends with a family who came to Germany from Afghanistan 5.5 years ago under dire circumstances.
This family lives like many others in a residential complex where they are only among their own kind.
So you not only live in isolation, but also under circumstances that I find intolerable.
The playground in the yard consists of a sandpit, two swings and one broken Seesaw.
The mothers of the little ones were very astonished and almost incredulous that “a German” with a child was staying there with them. We live here in Berlin Hellersdorf and the families are regularly victims of racist insults and attacks (fences are destroyed, parents are afraid to let their children alone in the courtyard, etc.)
The overall situation there makes me thoughtful and sad.
I want to show the people who live there that they are welcome here.
That’s why I’m planning to hold a small summer party in your dreary courtyard on July 31, 2021.
A bouncy castle is to be rented and there are a few small attraction stations such as face painting, various games, a healthy fruit buffet, music, lots of balloons, giant soap bubbles, colorful decorations and other little things.
Since the idea of organizing this festival comes from my heart, which unfortunately does not print any money, I need help.
I am also still looking for people who can help with the assembly and dismantling and look after the various stations.
I am also happy about donations in kind such as (garden, sand) toys. There is almost no such thing and I would like to suggest to the children there what it means to share with each other and to use beautiful things TOGETHER.
