This accessory sits around the handle of the Hermes Birkin bag and sits flat against the back of the bag, adding a functional pocket.
At first glance this accessory is similar to the “Birkin Pochette”, which was featured in the recent Fall/Winter 2021 show.
This accessory also has an opening for placing around the Birkin handle. It was apparently meant to be placed inside the bag, not the outside, like the Backpocket and facing the front.
The Birkin Pochette also contains items with lids. Meanwhile, Backpocket uses a zipper so it is more secure than a regular cover. This accessory looks functional and has a slim profile.
The backpack will be available in a variety of sizes to fit many Birkin sizes. But, of course the trick is to find the right color combos to match bags of different colors.
This accessory can be used in other bags with straps or handles that match the opening, or even just tucked inside another bag. For Backpocket size 25 cm, the price is USD 1,170 or around Rp. 16 million.
