According to the Head of the Center for Technical Seismology, Potential Geophysics and Time Signs of BMKG Rahmat Triyono in a press release received on Sunday, May 23, 2021, this total lunar eclipse can be witnessed if the weather conditions are cloudy and clear from the beginning of the process, namely 17.46 WIT until ending at 22.51. Rahmat further explained, the phase (P1) or the beginning of the lunar eclipse starts at 17.46.12 WIT which crosses the central part of Papua, so that observers in Papua Province can witness the entire process of this total lunar eclipse.

Meanwhile, the peak phase of the total lunar eclipse can be witnessed in all parts of Indonesia, except in small parts of Riau, parts of West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh.
