Monday night requires, the NBA has just unveiled the two best players of the past week. The lucky ones? Jrue Holiday in the East and Luka Doncic in the West. One must now justify his new contract and the other to gain places for the race to the MVP.
A great first reward for Jrue who has had a big media week. Forget Khris Middleton, Giannis’ new lieutenant, at least hopefully, he’s him. 26.8 points average with dantesque success percentages. He could have sent shots with his eyes closed. 62.7% shooting success including 45.8% 3-point and 85.7% throws. All with 8.5 assists and 5.8 rebounds without missing out on 2.5 steals and the usual big defensive streaks. Here is the XXL week that Jrue has just carried out for us. When we do big weeks like that, the players are happy and are already very happy to win such a reward. Not for him. You thought you had a great week because you won four euros on a scratch ticket? Well it’s gonna be hard to do better than Jrue. The Jruth also landed a pharaminous contract of 160 million over 4 years. Enough to protect the family while playing in a winning team. Hats off to the artist.

For the third time in his career, Luka Doncic has won the weekly Player of the Week award. Having already won this trophy at the beginning of January, he becomes the third Mavs in history to have this title twice in the same season. The two others ? Josh Howard et Dirk Nowitzki – we admit there is only one legend here. Dallas is getting better and better and can now count on an almost empty infirmary to achieve a big run of victories. The leader of this whole pack is the Slovenian Doncic. He showed it perfectly in his own victory over Boston with 36 points and a solid 7/11 from the parking lot. The magician treats us week after week with his hot shots, his blind passes and so many others. The week of the Mavs was clinical. 4 victories in as many matches with a Luka in the oven and in the mill. 29.8 points average at 51.1% in shootings including 44.7% in 3-points and a CA-TA-STRO-PHI-QUE 54.5% in throws. All with 8.3 rebounds and 6.5 assists. Just imagine if Doncic went back to 80% throwing success … we would be entitled to 35 points per night with our hands in the shorts. Despite all the genius that Luka has, his throws remain a small gap to be corrected, if we ignore his 5.3 ball losses per game over the week. In any case, at this rate of stats and if the Mavs continue to grab places in the Western Conference, we could well hear about another player from the Balkans in the race for the MVP.
Luke gonna Luke.

This week again, the level offered was high and two players were able to pull their pins out of the game. Jrue Holiday – who must now justify his huge salary – and Luka Doncic – who must collect points for the final race to the MVP – will surely be brought to talk about them again. And this, for our greatest pleasure.
