Koike was the captain when Kaishi Kokusai High School won its first Inter-High Championship in its fifth year of its founding. After entering Nihon Keizai University, a leading school in Kyushu and an ordinary intercollegiate school, he encouraged the team with his signature three-point weapon and led the team to 4th place in West Japan Tournament last year . He will join the team as a designated player this time around, but as a player from Niigata Prefecture, like Endo, I expect him to capture the heart of the booster with his gorgeous triples.
