ID&T, the organization behind dozens of major festivals, is investigating how events in the Netherlands can take place safely. The focus is on corona tests. A full vaccination would probably no longer give access, Dutch media write.

Two weeks ago, the Dutch government hastily banned major events until at least mid-August. The sector is now investigating how these can still be organized safely. ID&T also agreed this with the government on Tuesday, after it had previously threatened summary proceedings.
The Dutch corona pass, ‘Testing for Access’, must above all become watertight. This requires proof of a recent negative corona test. According to Dutch media, it would no longer suffice to be fully vaccinated: vaccinated people should also be tested to gain access.
Festival-goers should also be tested during the event, 24 hours before the end. However, the sector has questions about its feasibility. The results of the study into new Testing for Access rules should be ready by August 1.
The corona figures are going in the wrong direction in the Netherlands after far-reaching relaxation and the number of positive tests among vaccinated people is also increasing. Last week, 23 percent of the infected people had already had at least one corona jab. Dutch virologists and hospitals therefore sounded the alarm and pointed out that the delta variant would be so contagious that people who have already been fully vaccinated can also pass on the virus.
