In July 2016 the Comic-Con trailer appeared before Justice League, the film that was to become the highlight of the then young DC Extended Universe. The trailer gave a first look at the movie Zack Snyder wanted to deliver.
But that film never came out and the Justice League which did appear was a mishmash of Snyder’s plans, Joss Whedon’s reshoots, and Warner Bros. This year a kind of Director’s Cut with Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

The basis of “The Snyder Cut” remains the same. Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and of course Superman (Henry Cavill) take on a villain.
But the biggest villain this time around isn’t Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds). This one is called Darkseid (Ray Porter) and probably comes with a mountain more violence.

But beyond the arrival of Darkseid, there are many more new characters, on both sides. New faces include Nuidis Vulko (Willem Dafoe), The Atom (Ryan Zheng), Elinore Stone (Karen Bryson), Iris West (Kiersey Clemons), Martian Manhunter (Harry Lennix), The Joker (Jared Leto) and Desaad (Peter Guinness) . And there would be more.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will appear on HBO Max on March 18 and probably in the Netherlands on Ziggo Movies & Series XL.
