Full quarantine for Tyrol ends tomorrow; In short: only one percent “infected”

While the Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Industrialists are full of praise, the next conflict is looming in trade. At first it was the dispute over the sale of clothing, children’s toys or garden furniture in the grocery trade that angered the specialist retailer, now the furniture group XXXLutz is annoyed about a preference for the DIY and garden centers. These may be unlocked again from April 14, the furniture trade only from May 2.

Even small kitchen or furniture studios under 400 square meters can open. “What is happening now is the food problem high 17,” said XXXLutz spokesman and marketing director Thomas Saliger to APA on Monday. He is annoyed that, of all things, DIY and garden centers are allowed to open earlier than the furniture trade. “The sales areas there are much smaller and the customer frequency is higher,” says Saliger. While an average XXXLutz has between 10,000 and 30,000 square meters and thus enough space for customers not to get too close, DIY megastores with garden centers are many times smaller.
