Full fire at the annual meeting of Bodø/Glimt – investor feels bullied

BIG CLUB: Bodø/Glimt’s big play in Norway and Europe in recent seasons means that they are one of Norway’s biggest football clubs in 2023.

The proposal to get rid of Glimt investors led to high temperatures at the annual meeting of Bodø/Glimt.

– There are limits to how much human shit we find ourselves in, said Glimt investor Benn Eidissen at the club’s annual meeting. He added that he will now resign from the board of Nordlandsglimt AS.

Nordlandsglimt has a financial interest in all transfer cases related to the club’s A team.

Eidissen feels bullied by Rødt politician Andreas Tymi, who put forward the proposal to discontinue Nordlandsglimt. The proposal was voted down at the annual meeting on Monday evening, where there was a high temperature during the discussion.

HARD OUT: Benn Eidissen, pictured here in 2020, feels bullied by Rødt politician Andreas Tymi.

Billionaire Tord Kolstad recently resigned from the board of Nordlandsglimt – and so does Eidissen.

– When he resigned from the board, I think he was partly bullied. He is partly bullied, with questions about suspicion. I have drawn the conclusion that when he pulls out, I do the same. There are limits to how much human shit we find ourselves in, to put it bluntly, Eidissen said from the podium.

– Then we take and keep the focus on the proposal itself, interrupts the chairman before the investor sits down.

After the meeting, VG asks Benn Eidissen if he can elaborate on his tirade from the annual meeting.

He says he feels bullied by Rødt’s city council representative, Andreas Tymi.

– What I didn’t get the chance to ask him about is what he has done for the club? I know the answer, because it is absolutely nothing, says Eidissen and continues:

– He uses the club to get a podium. He abuses the pulpit two annual meetings in a row for things that have to do with his political views and nothing to do with what is best for the club.

– Why do you feel bullied by Tymi?

– If you don’t understand, I think we’ll just stop now. It’s fine, good luck with the coverage, says Eidissen before he abruptly ends the phone call with VG.

He later returned to VG with the following SMS:

– To Rødts Tymi – who abuses the club, the annual meeting and its pulpit to drive politics – I want to say: I know that the club greatly appreciates my many years of commitment to the club – unlike Tymi, who has never done anything for the club! But Tymi bullies and makes both Tord Kolstad and me suspicious.

RED: Andreas Tymi says he has been part of Bodø/Glimt most of his life. He put forward the proposal to liquidate Nordlandsglimt AS.

– He is a rather sore and disillusioned type, says Tymi about the claims of investor Eidissen.

– Why do you think he says what he says?

– He probably feels that he has not been appreciated by the club, and of course I would say that you appreciate that. There is no one who does not appreciate what they have done for the club, but he must have easily felt bothered and bullied.

VG puts forward the claim to Eidissen that the Rødt politician has not done anything for the club in recent years.

– I have been to a bunch of away games, all home games, shouting, singing and cheering. I feel that I have done a lot as a supporter and in Glimt I firmly believe that I have contributed to revitalizing member democracy and getting more active members.

The board did not support the proposal presented by Rødt politician Andreas Tymi.

“NordlandsGlimt AS was established in February 2011. The company was then established as part of the “rescue action” from society and business to save FK Bodø/Glimt from going bankrupt”, argues the board and claims that there has never been a topic of dividends from the company.

From the podium, Andreas Tymi argued why he believes Nordlandsglimt should be discontinued.

– In practice, a liquidation will mean that all player logistics, both the processes and the finances, will be fully integrated into the football club Bodø/Glimt. This will result in more transparency, insight, overview and control from both members, shop stewards, employees, the public and the media. Also the board of the football club, at the expense of the board and owners of Nordlandsglimt, he said.

– If it is more important to nurture contact with the 28 capital owners in Nordlandsglimt and other capitalists in Bodø, rather than members, supporters and the public, then yes, then one can support the board’s position.

VG has also been in contact with billionaire Tord Kolstad, who has moved to Switzerland and no longer has any financial interests in Nordlandsglimt.

– I don’t feel bullied by Nordlandsglimt, says Kolstad to VG – something Benn Eidissen claimed he did during his speech at the annual meeting.
