Police do not yet know if the pilot had just been intoxicated, but they believe he was flying as a passenger to the UK when he was discovered.
– We are working hard to find out, but he is uncooperative so it may take time, says operations manager Svein Walle in the Eastern police district to NTB.
Walle says the man belongs to an airline that is not among the major passenger airlines.
– He was wearing a full uniform and had flight documents, so it seemed as if he was at work. That was the basis for us to contact him, and then he was very uncooperative. He is in custody, and we are taking blood samples, says Walle.
The man has been reported for obstruction of public service and disorderly conduct. He will probably also be reported for violating the Aviation Act.
