The autodromes are being cleaned again, the knives for the bratwursts are being polished and the beer cases are being stored: these are the final preparations for the biggest and oldest country festival in Upper Austria. More than half a million visitors are expected at Urfahraner Markt in the next nine days.

“We’re ready to go,” said festival host Patrick Stützner. A large truck was placed in front of the big tent, which can accommodate more than 2,000 guests. It is full of fuel. Thousands of liters of liquid flow to the taps through fire hoses. From there – if the guests are thirsty in the autumn – 110,000 half-pints will be served again.
