Fulham striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic, managed to spoil Liverpool’s inaugural week. The Reds manager, Juergen Klopp, was excited to make it.
Liverpool travel to Craven Cottage, Saturday (6/8/2022), in the inaugural week of the 2022/2023 Premier League. The Reds made it difficult for the hosts.
Fulham could take the lead in the 32nd minute, through Mitrovic’s goal. The Serbian striker’s header brought the hosts 1-0 up until the break.

In the second half, Liverpool had equalized the score through Darwin Nunez. However, Mitrovic again made Alisson pick the ball from the nest in the 72nd minute.
Mitrovic was able to trick Virgil van Dijk, before finally being violated. Mitrovic then got a penalty, and could hit Liverpool’s goal. Fulham had led 2-1, before finally Mohamed Salah equalized the score to 2-2 in the 80th minute.
After the match, Klopp was amazed and excited by Mitrovic. Because, the 27-year-old striker managed to make Liverpool only get one point in the first week.
Even in the moments after the match, it seemed Klopp was talking something to Mitrovic. The former Partizan, Anderlecht, and Newcastle United player was also hit by a ‘slap’ from Klopp, for successfully making his opponent fail to win.
Statistically, Mitrovic did appear okay. Opta noted, Mitrovic could make two goals from the three shots he released against Liverpool.
