Fulham thrashes Tottenham with a double from Rodrigo Muniz (3-0)
The London derby stayed in the south. Fulham won a resounding 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, who for the first time this season failed to score in a Premier League match.
The possibility of overcoming Aston Villa – whom they beat 4-0 last weekend – and getting into the top four seemed to have risen to Tottenham’s mind from the beginning, when the hosts tried to cause a surprise.
In the first two minutes, Andreas Pereira’s shot skimmed the post, and Guglielmo Vicario dove to the ground to prevent Saša Lukić’s goal.
Spurs, who had scored in each of their opening 27 league games of the season – equaling a club record – looked surprisingly sluggish in attack, and chances were limited throughout the first half.
James Maddison came closest to scoring, his shot skimming Bernd Leno’s near post, but Fulham were rewarded for their efforts with the first goal just before the break.
Antonee Robinson created the first goal with a fantastic cross, which Rodrigo Muniz, the man of the moment, controlled and finished across the top corner.

The Brazilian’s sixth goal in his last seven league games encouraged his team to continue dominating the match after the break, and it only took a few minutes for them to double their lead.
Timothy Castagne found enough space on the right flank to send in a devilish ball, which Lukić deflected with his thigh and scored the Serbian’s first goal for Fulham.
The Spurs were expected to react, but they did exactly the opposite, and Muniz soon scored again, taking advantage of the rebound of a Calvin Bassey shot to score the third.
Despite their record this season, the visitors never seemed to find a way to score, and the final half hour was comfortable for Fulham.
With this result, Fulham revives its remote hopes of European qualification, as it is the first time it has won against Tottenham in the last 10 attempts.
Spurs, meanwhile, failed to break into the top four, although home games against Luton and Nottingham Forest after the international break will give Ange Postecoglou’s men hope of a revival.
