New York September 8:
Shortly after Fujifilm launched the lightning-fast X-H2S, which caters to action, sports and wildlife, the edition arrives for those who need 8K video and higher resolution than the X-H2S’s 26 megapixels. .
The Fujifilm X-H2 is the second camera in the Fuji X series, which replaces the X-H1. But this is about resolution more than speed, and then 8K video, which is a rare commodity in cameras, and at least in this class where we’re talking about a camera with an APS-C format image chip.
The camera shares a home with the X-H2S, all buttons and the steering wheel, screens and connections are exactly the same, as is the 5.76MP viewfinder, and under the hatch on the right you’ll find two card slots . One for CFexpress B and one for SD card.
But inside it is very different. Here you get a 40.2 Mp image chip – not stacked – that supports internal video recording in 8K30p, with the Apple ProRec codec. You can record 4: 2: 2 10-bit 8K / 30p and 12-bit RAW videos via HDMI on an Atomos recorder.
The X-H2 also has a weatherproof magnesium camera housing, five-axis image stabilization that compensates for up to seven stops, and the same lightning-fast autofocus with subject recognition and deep learning AI technology as the X-H2S.
The X-H2 can also use the new FT-XH vertical grip which has FTP transfer image transfer over Ethernet or Wi-Fi and external recording function via wired LAN.
The camera has a new X-trans CMOS 5 HR image chip with 40 Mp and with pixel shift you can take photos up to 160 Mp. Images from the camera are put together in the software later and not in the camera.
Fujifilm has also worked on reducing image noise at high ISO and believes it is significantly better than even the X-T4 at high ISO. Color dynamics should also be better than previous generations and more like the colors you get from Fuji’s GFX series medium format cameras.
The lowest ISO value is reduced to 64 and 125, and the shortest shutter speed with the electronic shutter is extremely high at 1 / 180,000s.
Video can be saved in F-Log and F-Log2, respectively with 500 and 1000 ISO, and the camera supports saving images in 10-bit HEIF, 14-bit uncompressed RAW and jpeg format.

High resolution works best with new Fuji lenses, including those launched in 2021, such as the 18mm f1.4, 23mm f1.4, 33mm f1.4 and now another: the XF 56mm f1. 2 R WR II.
It is a new edition of the Fujinon XF 56mm F1.2 R, but a completely new construction with significantly better autofocus and better image quality. Among other things, the sharpness in the corners of f1.2 is significantly improved. The near limit has been reduced from 70 to 50 cm, which also expands the area of use. Since the lens has an aperture of F1.2 and a focal length that corresponds to 85mm in the 35mm format, it is perfect for portraits with a shallow depth of field and a soft background. The so-called bokeh.
