Dr. Saif Al-Maili, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Scientific Club, announced that the club will launch the Fujairah electronic competitions within the activities of the Fujairah Science Camp in its second edition, in cooperation with the Fujairah Shooting and Equestrian Club, the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club, and Al-Hasani Electronics Company. The camp will last for a month from July 10 to August 10, with the aim of promoting Competition among young people in e-sports.
He added that the camp is witnessing a distinguished turnout through the registration of 120 members of the age of 8 years and over to join its activities, and that the registration number confirms the keenness of parents for their children to join the scientific activity of the club. Registration this year is due to the remoteness of their places of residence, and the limited duration of the camp’s activity.
This came during a press conference held at the club’s headquarters, where Dr. Al-Maili discussed the details of the activities of the camp, which includes, for the first time in the emirate, electronic sports competitions, which combine several games, namely the electronic chess championship, sumobot competitions, electronic football and electronic archery, in addition to workshops and training programs in four axes that include: Electronic game design course (Scratch), sumobot course, 3D printing skills course, and computer programming course (Python)
Dr. Al-Muaili stressed that the club is keen to create new and exceptional events to keep pace with future aspirations in artificial intelligence through interactive programs and activities in which governmental and private institutions participate. Sports competitions in the field of technology have also been integrated in the camp with the aim of exploiting youth’s spare time during the summer vacation, thus contributing to Developing their abilities and sports skills in artificial intelligence, benefiting from modern equipment in the club, and harnessing human cadres for the success of the camp.
He pointed out that the club seeks to provide new training programs that keep pace with the interests of young people in 3D printing, robotics and computer programming because of their global interest in advanced sciences, in addition to taking into account the recreational aspect in the camp through an entertainment trip to the Museum of the Future in Dubai, the Marine Biology Center in Sharjah, and entertainment activities. In cooperation with the Fujairah Adventure Club and the Fujairah Environment Authority.
He explained that the scientific club’s activity escalated and developed significantly during the post-pandemic period, and the club’s members succeeded in obtaining local, regional and international awards as a culmination of the club’s efforts to develop youth skills and overcome all difficulties, in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership of the emirate calling for the development of technological capabilities and artificial intelligence. The summer camp is the ideal gateway with its distinguished activities to achieve visions and goals, as the camp brings together, for the first time, multiple activities in one place, including electronic chess competitions, programming robots for youngsters, electronic archery, and others. Youth, refining the skills of children, and highlighting the capabilities of the scientifically gifted with a software package in installation, design, 3D printing, and the programming language of artificial intelligence.
