Viral on social media a man with the initials JP (23), in Kota Macassar, South Sulawesi (Sulsel), lay sprawled after allegedly being shot by the police. As it turned out, the man was a fugitive in cases of theft and violence (curas) and was recorded as having thrown a Molotov cocktail at a church.
“He has a lot of police reports, there are 6,” said the Kapolrestabes Macassar Kombes Mokhamad Ngajib was launched detikSulselWednesday (10/5/2023).
Ngajib said that JP was arrested for throwing a Molotov cocktail at the Toraja Masale Church on Adhyaksa Street, Panakkukang District, Makassar, in 2018. JP’s actions at that time almost burned down the church.
Ngajib added that his crimes often disturb the community. JP has been the target of police operations for a long time.
“That person is already disturbing and there are many testimonies made by the public. He is a fugitive. He has also committed theft in Pangkep, too. Sadistic people,” he explained.
Obliged explained that the police shot the perpetrator because he threatened the officer with a dagger. The police immediately took JP to the hospital for treatment.
