Fuerza Regida to Perform at North Island Credit Union Amphitheater in Chula Vista

The group Fuerza Regida will perform on Wednesday, November 22 at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheater in Chula Vista.

The performers of the so-called corridos tumbados included San Diego County in their Otra Peda Tour, “due to the incredible demand from fans,” the Live Nation company announced this Tuesday.

Two weeks ago the group from San Bernardino, California announced the cancellation of their concert at the Estadio Caliente in Tijuana. Hours before, a blanket was found with alleged threats from a drug cartel, authorities said.

The blanket was signed with the initials CJNG, in reference to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. The state prosecutor’s office opened an investigation after this incident.

In a post on their Instagram account, the band simply said that the event scheduled for October 6 was canceled “for reasons beyond our control.”

Last month, Mexican singer Peso Pluma also canceled a concert in Tijuana due to alleged threats from the same criminal group. Days later, he appeared to a full house at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheater in Chula Vista with capacity for 20,000 people.

Fuerza Regida, currently with almost 30 million monthly listeners on Spotify, earned six new Latin American Music Award nominations, including Best Regional Mexican Duo or Group, Song of the Year for Bebe Dame with Grupo Frontera, and Best Regional Mexican Album.

They recently released the song El Jefe in collaboration with Colombian singer Shakira.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.
