The first derby of the season has started early. Just two weeks after the start of the season, on matchday three, the first match between Fuenlabrada and Alcorcón takes place. A derby that has always been the case, but which has been made impossible in recent years due to the difference in category between the two teams. Now, with everything back to normal, a very repetitive and evenly distributed duel is back.
It cannot be said that this match comes at a positive time for Fuenla. In fact, on paper, the big favourite to take the win is Alcorcón, who arrive with the well-deserved label of being one of the favourites for promotion. The start of the season that the team coached by Alfredo Sánchez has had is not positive. They have played four games, three official and one friendly, and have not won any of them. They started the league by drawing against Antequera in an ugly match, and since then they lost against Las Rozas in the Copa RFEF, against Ceuta in the league and against Leganés last Wednesday. In those four games, they only managed to score one goal. It is early, but they have to wake up before the situation becomes entrenched.
For Alcorcón, the moment is much more optimal. They are not perfect, but they are aiming high with a very positive preseason and a league start in which they do not know what defeat is. Many goals per game and many games played, despite the fact that they drew 1-1 against Yeclano in the opening game. Last week they recovered and had a feast in Santo Domingo at the expense of a Hércules (4-1). The very young Pablo Álvarez has the team where he wanted it at this start, and he does not want to slow down against Fuenla.
The historical results do not show a clear dominator in this match. Fuenlabrada has won it 20 times officially, with a balance of seven victories and nine draws for the blue ones. If we add the friendlies to the equation, the data are equal. Fuenlabrada has won fourteen times, Alcorcón ten and they have drawn on eleven occasions. Officially, the blue ones have performed better. Currently, there seems to be a significant difference in favour of the potters.
