When asked by PAP how long current fuel prices in Poland can last, Roszkowski said that in a few weeks or a few months the “next” prices of diesel or gasoline will depend very much on the stock exchange price and the strength of the zloty, on monetary policy and this what is happening in geopolitics. In his opinion “in the coming weeks, fuel prices will be rather low“.
– I do not want to speculate how long, because we do not know how large the reserves of this fuel are in these low levels – he said. The expert pointed out that the Brent crude oil graph has been falling over the last year, but the oil price has also fallen compared to September this year. from $95 to $85 per barrel. – Whether this trend will continue depends on entities such as OPEC, which create the supply of oil. Technical analyzes show that there is still room for decline, Roszkowski said.
He emphasized that Orlen cannot use strategic reserves to reduce fuel prices. – The reserves described in the Act are only to be used in critical situations. The current situation is not a critical one. It is impossible to secretly use fuel reserves without market information, Roszkowski emphasized.
