Fuel shortage in the country: rumor or reality?

Given the rumor that originated on social networks that there would be a fuel shortage, the vice minister of Energy and MinesLuis Ayala, came forward and reported that there is no danger of fuel shortages in the country.

Ayala explained that it has been monitored and that they have ensured that the containers of said product have found alternative routes to supply the service stations normally.

Therefore, the vice minister called on the population to remain calm and not be surprised by false information that only causes chaos.

Ayala explained that if excessive demand is caused and consumers, out of fear of shortages, purchase more fuel than usual, this could create a shortage at service stations, which would then generate a crisis that has not existed until now.

Given this, the vice minister of hydrocarbons indicated that the monitoring made it possible to verify that a fuel shortage was perceived in Huehuetenango and Jutiapa; these cases arise in isolation from the rest of the country.

Fuel prices
