Gasoline began to disappear from gas stations in Russian regions, and there is a shortage of diesel in agriculture, it says “News”. “There is a shortage at gas stations in the Crimea, Krasnodar region, Astrakhan and Volgograd regions, as well as in Kalmykia. Last month there was a shortage of A-95, and now there is no A-92 and diesel either,” Mosregiongaz director German Kolotov told the newspaper .
“Now we are working with reserves, but at some gas stations we have a shortage of A-92 and diesel,” says the owner of a chain of gas stations, Ekaterina Savkina from GP Vympel.
Kolotov claims that trains with oil products from central Russia are already traveling several weeks longer than usual and this is the reason for the shortage. Refineries are forced to curtail production due to overburdened warehouses because there simply isn’t enough transportation capacity. The railway is overloaded: there are not enough locomotives and tanks because many of its trains are serving the front.
The other reason is the massive departure of workers. “At Rosneft’s fuel and lubricant warehouse in Mikhailovsk, Stavropol region, workers are leaving en masse because they have stopped paying them night wages, and wages are not indexed. There is already a shortage of A95 gasoline at Rosneft gas stations in Stavropol region, as well as at Gazprom gas stations, says a source of “Izvestia”.
The problem is particularly acute in Crimea, where they never managed to organize fuel deliveries after the strikes on the Crimean bridge. Gasoline is not only hard to find, but also significantly more expensive. There is no diesel at all, writes the Moscow Times. Local residents complain that they fill up at illegal “gas stations” where you can only harm yourself with coupons. “It’s like we’ve gone back 35 years,” says a local resident.
Russia’s energy ministry also admitted there was a problem with fuel supplies, but attributed it to heavy rail traffic due to the tourist season. It agreed with the Ministry of Agriculture to take measures, which are not disclosed. “In addition to the general measures to stabilize the price situation in the domestic market of petroleum products, we recommended that the oil companies find ways to limit the wholesale prices of diesel fuel in the agricultural regions of the country. The supply of fuel to the agro-industrial complex is placed under a special control by the Ministry of Energy,” the announcement also states.
