Fuel prices, the descent continues: motorists in seventh heaven. The cost of petrol and diesel continues to decline, but the future is still uncertain

In particular, in the first half of August there was a constant decrease in pump prices, a decrease that represented a real breath of fresh air for all motorists.

Official data fully confirm this trend: in the period between 5 and 9 August there was a drop in gasoline and diesel prices in Italy.

All those who went to the self service to fill up have spent 1,815 euro per liter approximately but, as more than someone had already predicted, in recent days there has been a new drop in the price of fuel throughout the peninsula.

By carefully observing the data of several distributors in various regions of the Belpaese, we can see how diesel fuel in certain locations it is also found at lows of about 1,649 euros in self and servedwith maximums of around € 2.009 per liter.

Petrol (Ansa)

However, in most cases it is around 1.7 or 1.8 euros per liter. In the case of petrol, however, surprisingly, some distributors have passed by 1,833 euro on average at about 1.7 or 1.8 euros both in self and served, with a minimum of 1,569 euros per liter and maximums at over 2.1 euros.

The reasons for this sort of small miracle are various: according to the opinion of some analysts, a contribution came from the extension of the petrol discount introduced through the Aid bis Law Decree.

However, the cut had already been fixed, so this is not the only reason. Much more relevant could be the delayed burst effect of the decrease in oil price which took place last June.

Many are now wondering how long this phase of rebalancing the price of fuels will last. To date it is very difficult to make predictions but the feeling is that the future is still serious with uncertainties.
