Fuel prices do not affect it – the US buyer chooses a pickup truck

New car sales results for the first half of the year in the USA have been compiled. As before, the biggest success for pickup truck manufacturers.

Even the high fuel prices have not been able to change the habits of Americans and when looking for a new car, the buyer still looks in the direction of pickup trucks.

The first place is occupied by the Ford F-series, and although the number of cars sold in the first half of the year compared to the first six months of 2021 decreased by 17.12 percent, the 299,345 copies sold do not allow us to question the leadership role. In second place is Chevrolet Silverado with 261,829 copies and a 10.12% drop compared to 2021, while the third place is occupied by Ram Pickup with 244,984 copies (-21.7%).

Next is the first passenger car Toyota Camry (135,925; -23.50%), followed by Jeep Grand Cherokee (134,369; 24.50%) and GMC Sierra (118,938; -14.07%).

Below are Toyota Highlander, Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Equinox and Honda CR-V, which with approximately 117-116 thousand units sold are only a few units behind each other. Among the twenty most requested models are two electric cars – Tesla Model Y (12th place; 107,999; +41.31%) and Tesla Model 3 (15th place; 90,099; +74.9%).
