The football Hessenliga team of FSV Fernwald supports the Gießen blood bank and the Lions Club Gießen – Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen eV with a blood donation shortly before Christmas.
(nal). Having achieved the season goal of relegation by qualifying for the promotion round of the Football Hessen League, the players and coaches of the FSV Fernwald insisted on meeting for a good cause to donate blood despite the Christmas break.
The blood donation campaign was supposed to take place in the Gießen blood bank in the summer, but there was no free time to support the Lions Club Gießen – Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen eV during the preparation for the season. Lions member Ali Aydin, who is involved in team building measures for the Hessenligisten during the preparation for the season, found willing supporters for the charity blood donation campaign from trainer Daniyel Bulut and the team.
Lions Secretary Dr. Laura Schupp welcomed the team in front of the blood bank and thanked them for their support, as the total proceeds are intended for the “Aktion KiM” (children in focus) of the association AKTION – Perspektiven für young people and families. The aim of KiM is to perceive the children of prisoners as an independent target group with specific needs and to help them to demand and receive the corresponding need for support.
The guiding principle is the comprehensive protection and implementation of children’s rights. The expense allowance for the players totaling 430 euros also went to the Lions Club.
