FSRA warns the public against Nationwide Canada Loans, which offers unlicensed mortgage brokerage services in Ontario

TORONTO, the 19 nov. 2021 / CNW / – The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (ARSF) is warning consumers that Nationwide Canada Loans is not licensed to operate in the mortgage industry. Ontario.

Nationwide Canada Loans operates as a mortgage brokerage, and advertises itself as such, at 439 University Avenue, Toronto ON M5G 2H6 and through its website https://nationwidecanada.loan.

Nationwide Canada Loans collects personal information from consumers and asks them to apply for a mortgage on its website.

FSRA urges consumers to be cautious if contacted by the company or someone using the above website claiming to act on its behalf. They are also advised not to obtain a mortgage loan through Nationwide Canada Loans.

It is the FSRA that issues licenses to mortgage brokerages, mortgage brokers and agents, the goal being to preserve public confidence in the financial services offered by Ontario. Consumers who obtain a mortgage loan through individuals or businesses who do not have an FSRA license are not protected by the Law of 2006 on mortgage brokerages, mortgage lenders and mortgage administrators and its regulations, which govern mortgage brokerages, mortgage brokers and agents licensed in Ontario.

Consumers are encouraged to consult the public register to ensure that you are doing business with a licensed mortgage broker or agent, mortgage brokerage or mortgage administrator.
