In North America, “In A Violent Nature” has already caused a huge hype, and the slasher will finally be released in German cinemas in October 2024. The FSK age rating has now been determined – which is not surprising.

“It’s quiet, almost languid, but when the blood flows, it flows in streams,” wrote horror pope Stephen King in May 2024 on the short message service X (formerly: Twitter) about “In A Violent Nature,” for which he gave a clear recommendation. And audience reactions and the fact that it was not even submitted for release overseas suggest that a particularly brutal cinema experience awaits us here.
And that is exactly what the FSK’s verdict confirms: “In A Violent Nature” is approved for ages 18 and up in Germany. With films like “MaXXXine”, “Immaculate” and “Winnie Pooh: Blood And Honey 2”, several other horror films with the same red seal have already been released in cinemas this year. From everything we know so far, “In A Violent Nature” is likely to be a lot harder – and a real genre highlight (a second part is already in the works).

Both of these are probably due to the film’s unusual perspective. It is not told from the point of view of the victims, but primarily from that of the killer. The killer is the undead Johnny (Ry Barrett), who comes back to life when a teenager steals a medallion. Now he is determined to get it back and brutally kill everyone…
