After the publication of the investigation, Putin said that he considered it “the legalization of the materials of the American special services.” The Russian Foreign Ministry called the politician “frivolous” accusations of FSB involvement in the poisoning.
After returning to Russia in January 2021, Navalny was arrested in the Yves Rocher case, in which he had previously received a suspended sentence and was supposed to report to the investigators, but did not do this due to treatment in Germany.
