US Federal Reserve (FRS) officials, including Chairman Jerome Powell, said they were still not convinced interest rates were high enough to win the fight against inflation.
“The Fed is committed to a monetary policy stance that is tight enough to reduce inflation to 2% over time. We’re not sure we’ve done enough to make that happen,” Powell said at an International Monetary Fund event on Thursday. “If there is a need to further strengthen the policy, we will not hesitate to do so,” he admitted.
