11 Bit Studios announced on Thursday that they are in full swing with the development of a sequel to the brutal strategy game Frostpunk.
The game gets a straight-to-the-point title in the form of Frostpunk 2, and is set 30 years after the original game. The world is still ravaged by cold and storms that never end, but have since shifted from coal to oil.
Beyond this, the experience should be as bone-hard and brutal as the original Frostpunk, something the evocative trailer at the top of the article shows a bit of.
The developers, for their part, promise that their goal is for the sequel to surpass the first game in all respects. 11 Bit Studios now houses over 70 developers, and is growing ever larger, we must believe Frostpunk 2s Steam-side.
We liked Frostpunk very much when it was launched in 2018, and had the following to say about the experience:
