Frost Giant, the studio created by Blizzard Entertainment veterans who worked on StarCraft II and Warcraft III, has announced a free demo for its new real-time strategy game Stormgate. You can try out the RTS from February 5 to 12 as part of the “Games to Be” festival on Steam.
As part of the demo, players will have access to cooperative play in a group of up to three people against bots, as well as a rating duel. Gamers who backed the project on Kickstarter earlier will be able to play Stormgate a few days before the festival starts.
In addition, the developers announced the first e-sports tournament for Stormgate. The EGC Stormgate Open will take place in 2024, presumably during the Play To Be festival. Participants in the closed beta testing of the strategy will be able to compete for a prize pool of $10 thousand.
Stormgate was announced in 2022 and was funded by fans through the Kickstarter platform. The fundraising for $100 thousand was completed in 15 minutes, and in total the project brought in more than $1.8 million. It is unknown when the RTS will be released.
