The driver of the car must be a man in his 30s from Østfold.
He was conscious when he was transported on by air ambulance.
The police estimate that the driver of the car was trapped between 30-40 minutes before he was transported on by ambulance to the air ambulance just before 23.00, Wednesday.
It must be the car that has crossed into the opposite lane. The police still do not know what the reason is. The car is completely damaged after the accident.
High speed
– We know that the bus has come from the city side and the car has come from the east side. All indications are that the car has crossed into the opposite lane. We currently do not know more about the extent of the damage, other than that it is a matter of serious personal injury, says operations manager Gisle Sveen to NRK.
The police tell NRK that there seems to have been high speed in the picture.
– The car must have been pushed approximately 30-40 meters from the accident point, says the operations manager.
No passengers on the bus
There must have been no other people on the bus than the bus driver.
– The bus driver is not physically injured, but is of course affected by the incident. The employer is on site and takes care of the driver, says on-site operations manager, Geir Austvik.
