From Wednesday the summer weather will finally be back (for a while)

It looks like summer weather is finally approaching. Due to a high pressure area, the weather in the Netherlands will become more stable and warmer in the second half of the week; excellent conditions for barbecuing, camping or going on the water.

The start of August was relatively cool and changeable. Rain fell almost every day, although the showers were mostly local and not always present throughout the country. However, the volatility will have been disastrous for many outdoor activities.

Dry and warm

A high pressure area will have more influence over Europe in the coming days, causing the atmosphere to calm down and temperatures to rise.

“Tuesday will start, just like today, with sometimes sun, clouds and a chance of showers with thunderstorms, but it will change during the day. It will clear up from the southwest, it will then become drier and sunnier,” says NOS weatherwoman Willemijn Hoebert. .

From Wednesday it will be dry almost throughout the country, “only the north still has a chance of a shower”. In the west of the country it will be about 21 to 23 degrees, in the south and east the temperature can rise to 25 degrees.

Thursday and Friday is the real summer weather. Although there will be some clouds on Thursday, it will be quite warm with 25 to 27 degrees. The highest temperatures are probably tapped in the southeast of the country, while it is slightly cooler on the coast. On Friday there is a lot of sun, but the temperature is slightly lower: from 22 degrees at the sea to 25 degrees in the southeast.

Short term?

There is a chance that the summer weather will be over by the weekend. The high pressure area above Europe may have to make way for low pressure areas coming from the Atlantic Ocean. But: there will not be much rain on Saturday and Sunday and it will probably not get colder than 21 degrees.
