The couple are raising their three children in this house before selling it in 2020, a few years after starting work on another property in the same area. The house was sold a year later for $15 million.
2005: a vacation home in the Hamptons
The couple love New York and New York State: in 2005, they bought their vacation home in Amagansett, in the Hamptons, for $6.6 million. The actress enlists decorator Eric Hughes, a longtime friend, to design the interiors of this 1940s property, which has three bedrooms and a large blue and white bathroom. The latter is decorated with butterfly artwork, blue glass bottles and cream colored panels. “We wanted the decor to resonate with the landscape and for the house to really look like a family home”said Sarah Jessica Parker in 2022. “So we furnished it with vintage elements that we acquired over the years and made the backyard a versatile space to enjoy the sunset, organize barbecues, dinners, parties…” Since 2023, it has been possible to rent it for an entire summer for $95,000.
2011: a Greek Revival-style house in Greenwich Village
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick then expand their real estate portfolio by buying a Greek Revival-style house in Greenwich Village for just under $19 million. The house was built in 1846, is 630 square meters and has four bedrooms. Many old features, like marble fireplaces, crown molding, and hardwood floors, are in good condition, but renovations need to be undertaken. The house finally went on sale a little later, in 2012, for $24.99 million. Despite adding a modern kitchen with walnut cabinets, built-in bookcases on the top floor, and a state-of-the-art whirlpool tub in the master suite, the home struggles to find a buyer. We have to wait until 2015, when it is sold for 18.25 million dollars. It’s the most expensive sale of the week in the neighborhood, according to city records.
2016: a huge mansion in West Village
After the sale of their property in Greenwich Village, the couple decided to buy a pair of townhouses in the West Village, in order to combine them and make a mansion of almost 1300 square meters, with a private garden of 195 square meters. The total acquisition price before works: 34.5 million dollars.

The total cost of the work is estimated at over $50 million. It is the architects of Morris Adjmi Architects who are asked to lead the project. This highly regarded agency has worked on the Samsung building in New York’s Meatpacking District, the Austin Nichols House and the offices of Thrive Capital.
