In the late 50s, Lyudmila Gurchenko and Nadezhda Rumyantseva were the main young stars of Soviet cinema. Each director wanted to get one of these actresses in his project.

So, Alexey Mishurin decided to shoot a musical picture “Young Years”. He invited Gurchenko and Rumyantseva to audition, but the director lacked something in both. Then Mishurin drew attention to the young aspiring actress Svetlana Zhivankova, who did not have a single film role behind her.

Despite this, she brilliantly passed the audition. The actress tap-danced and danced some unthinkable dance. In addition, Svetlana Vasilievna turned out to be an incredible beauty: light curls, a pretty face, a radiant look.

Zhivankova was approved and given two whole roles: she had to reincarnate as a modest guy Alyosha and his sister Natasha. The picture brought the actress a resounding popularity. Later, she starred in the tapes “The Weird Man”, “Angel’s Day”, “Tales of Keshka and His Friends” and others.
