“From Unemployment to CEO: The Inspiring Career Journey of Rizky Arief Dwi Prakoso in Tangerang”

HMNS CEO Rizky Arief Dwi Prakoso shared his experience before building a perfume brand under the PT. The Geological Engineering graduate from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) initially aspired to work in an oil and gas company.

Rizky said that his dream was made with the hope of getting a big salary. In fact, in the year he graduated in 2016, the oil and gas industry was falling.

“When I want to go into the office that I want oil and gasat that time in 2016 the oil and gas industry was really falling, so they lay off everyone didn’t have an opening at all,” Rizky said at the dPreneur event ‘Young to become CEO’ which is supported by Bank BJB, a token for the country at Binus University Alam Sutera, Tangerang, Tuesday (30/5/2023).

Rizky admitted that he was unemployed after graduating from university. After pressure from his girlfriend, he ends up becoming an apprentice copywriter in a shoe brand.

“I was unemployed for a long time, playing Dota, dating, until finally my girl got angry ‘what do you take, what do you do?’ intern in a brand finished shoes copywriter,” he explained.

After the third month, Rizky admitted that he had received a job offer at PT Freeport for an assignment in Papua. After receiving various inputs from his closest friends, he turned down the offer and chose to work full time at a shoe company.

“Many suggested taking a mining company, but there were two people who later come to me say that I do copywriters That happy. That’s just validation, so I want to look for something risky,” he said.

Rizky then became CEO of the NAH Project in September 2017-October 2018. Until finally he chose to start his own business with the HMNS perfume brand.

“Now HMNS already has five stores in Indonesia,” he said.
