Antonia Chikova’s story is an absolute example of how there is always hope, how after every rain the sun rises and that it always makes sense to move forward. She went through her calvary in 2017, but she survived, traveled a long life path, developed as a person and today we can only learn from her strength.
Five years ago, 21-year-old Antonia was left without a leg after throwing herself under a train at the railway station in Burgas in an attempt to end her life. Today she walks with prostheses, but anyone would envy her, because of the happiness she received as a gift from God. In the summer, the beautiful Toni said the surest and most loving “Yes” to her chosen one Bozhidar, and only a month or two ago they had a baby boy named Boyan (SEE THE WHOLE STORY OF ANTONIA IN OUR DEVELOPING THEME).

The cute brunette does not want to go back in time before the unfortunate incident, as she prefers to live with the present and the future. Then, in a fit of despair that he has no steady job and no friends, Tony throws himself under the train. The vehicle did not kill her, but it severed her legs. The girl had her lower limbs amputated – the right leg missing from the thigh and the left leg from the ankle. Just three months after the major surgery she underwent, Toni is on the mend, her wounds are healing and she is successfully undergoing prosthetics and rehabilitation. All this happened thanks to the deputy mayor of Burgas for culture, tourism and sports Diana Savateva, who accepted the fate of the girl as a personal cause, stood by her in the most difficult and difficult moments, restored her dreams and helped her to love life again .

To help the 21-year-old woman, a campaign “Let’s help Tony step into life with two new legs” was launched. A bank account was opened especially for her in the name of UMBAL – Burgas, in which money was collected for her recovery.
Over the years, Chikova, who is now Mrs. Chenkova, found many friends, even managed to fall in love, but again, out of superstition, she did not want to admit it to the media.
And now, 6 years later, Antonia has a reason to enjoy life and be happy.
Months after the shared love, Tony married Bozhidar, and today the two are happy with their little boy, Boyan. “I’m happy! My husband helps me a lot. We live with his family, I feel lovedTony said.

Both of them have a hard fate, with many trials – each on his own path until the moment when the path becomes common. Tony and Bozhidar meet at the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration in Burgas under the care of its tireless chairperson and magician, as they call her, Marionela Stoyanova. To walk this path, in which there is both a lot of pain and a lot of zest for life, Toni experiences a series of personal dramas – growing up alone in the orphanage in Totleben due to the poverty of her parents with many children.
Today, everything is behind her. Over the years, she changed prostheses several times, and now with the rest of the money she bought a new wheelchair, as she had to use it sometimes, especially during pregnancy. Throughout his time with the prostheses, Tony did not despair, even winning his first medal in table tennis at a competition for people with disabilities. He caught fire thanks to the sports club “Javelin”, which he joined. Table tennis has been Antonia’s favorite sport since she was a child. Losing her legs, however, she does not believe that she will one day hold the hilki again. But she meets the right people, also with mobility problems, who take her to training and show that sports are possible if you have the will.
“I saw that there were people who cared about me. I am strong and I will fight. I will live again“, says the girl a year after the accident. Then she hardly believed that one day she would become a mother. But… the ways of God are unknown.
