Japanese visa-free tourism for Koreans, suspended due to the spread of COVID-19, is allowed again after 2 years and 7 months
The Japanese government is resuming visa waiver measures for 68 countries and regions of the world, including South Korea, which have been suspended due to the spread of COVID-19.
Even without a visa, Koreans can stay in Japan for up to 90 days to visit the city, visit relatives or take trips.
It is the first time in about two years and seven months that it has resumed visa-free entry for Koreans.

“From 11 October, Japan will ease border controls and resume private and visa-free travel.”
The COVID-19 quarantine process will also be greatly simplified.
If you hold a three-time vaccination certificate, recognized by the World Health Organization, you will be exempt from the pre-boarding exam for a flight to Japan.
If you do not have a 3 dose vaccine certificate, you must present a certificate that the test is negative before departure.
If there are no symptoms of infection after arriving in Japan, there is no need for testing and isolation.
In the travel industry, expectations for a trip to Japan have been suppressed for a long time, and as Japanese prices are relatively low due to the recent decline in the value of the yen, demand for travel to Japan is expected to increase rapidly.
Local governments in Japan have already called for the expansion of air routes in preparation for the surge in Korean tourists.
