Irrespective of vaccination, those coming from all EU member states, including Hungary, will be required to present a negative test result to enter Italy from 16 December, the Roman health minister said on Tuesday.
Roberto Speranza According to the head of the ministry, from 16 December to 31 January, those coming from the countries of the European Union can only enter Italy with a negative test result, MTI writes.
In addition to a negative test result, those who are not vaccinated are subject to a five-day quarantine obligation after entering Italy. These measures have so far only applied to those coming from outside the European Union.
The Roman government extended the health emergency, which was first introduced at the end of January 2020, until 31 March. From Wednesday, a booster vaccination will be mandatory for those working in education, health care and law enforcement.
