AntwerpIf you go to the Sinksenfoor one of the coming weeks, there is a very good chance that you will encounter a Bodet. The Bodet family has 22 stalls at the fair and travels all over the country. The first Bodet had a lottery window in 1864, and now, nine generations later, succession is still assured. “It’s the nostalgia, the smell, the lights, the ambiance, the folklore, the family: that’s what makes fair life so beautiful.”

It is quite a job to get the Bodet family together in the picture, and not everyone is there yet. For the occasion, the family poses at the V Maxx, the highest attraction on the Sinksenfoor, in the hands of Jim Bodet (30). Jim’s newborn twins are now the ninth generation of the foor family.
