After the works, which lasted 18 months, the reopening of the historic Giuriati field in via Pascal in Milan is now getting closer and closer. There is curiosity to see live the renewed face of a structure that, for several years, was no longer in step with modern times. Thanks to an economic commitment of 6.5 million euros financed by the Polytechnic, the new Giuriati, after a year and a half of work, it has really changed its face, becoming a center of sporting excellence. The list of interventions carried out is very long.
TRACK AND FIELD – First of all, the now obsolete synthetic surface of the track was redone as well as the central grass lawn for rugby. Intervention also necessary for the throwing competitions so that everything the system could then be approved for athletics competitions.
UNDER THE GRANDSTAND – Three interventions made under the central grandstand. First of all, the construction of a new reception, then the new medical center and finally the total renovation of the changing rooms.
SOCCER, PADEL, BASKETBALL – In the external spaces parallel to the straight opposite to the arrival one of the athletics track, a five-a-side football pitch with synthetic material, two padel courts, one for 3-on-3 basketball, have been built. All with relative lighting. The interventions made in the spaces outside the track also complete the two new facilities for cross fitness and calistenics.
CROSS ROUTE – The old external path of almost 800 meters, on which many school cross competitions were held, has been redeveloped by inserting 50 new plants to improve and embellish the green spaces.
THREE-STOREY GYM – The real highlight of the new Giuriati is the new multifunctional gym with three floors. On the ground floor there are the changing rooms and then on the upper floors they were built four panoramic gyms complete with a view of the athletics field. The gym also includes 60 machines for fitness and muscle strengthening.
BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL – A new volleyball and basketball facility has also been positioned next to the multifunctional gym.
THREE TYPES OF USERS – Who will be able to take advantage of a facility that offers so many possibilities for sports? Surely the students of the Polytechnic who financed the work, but then also the citizens of zone three and certainly the various rugby and athletics clubs that have always trained at the Giuriati field.
