Hotels are small particles of reality – they are cities within a city. We often think of a hotel as a place to relax or wait, but we rarely think about how alien a hotel room can be to the everyday, a place beyond time where we can meet the ghosts of our past. A place where the strongest emotions experienced once can be repeated again.

Or maybe it is there, in the hotel, that we can be who we really are? And to do things that we would never allow ourselves in everyday life.

A hotel room with many stories weaves into a fragmented narrative. Like a puzzle, composed in the history of different people who are united by one goal – the search for personal freedom.

The historical period in which the play takes place includes the last period of the Soviet regime, with a completely different perception of freedom than today. Each of us has our own hotel, the place we are in is us and no one else.

May 18 11:00 a.m. PREMIERE Performance-concert “Spider’s Wedding (Spider’s Wedding)” (Director: Andra Kavaliauskaitė) FAMILIES

Tickets: https://kakava.lt/renginys/premjera-voro-vestuves/7935/14565

In the new interpretation of Justin Marcinkevičius’s poem “Voro vestuvės”, the creative team of the performance-concert will pay great attention to the harmony (synthesis) of contemporary music and folklore. Songs are created to convey the work, connecting the entire narrative into a story – a musical allegory that highlights our own flaws and invites us to look together at where greed, selfishness and deception can sometimes lead.

The children, together with the actors, will be invited to help Noah find Dad and together stop the kidnapping of the Sun, which Spider, having planned in detail, is already preparing for his wedding.

Dad, someone is going to kidnap Saule. Do you know who?”

Dad, does heaven have a police force?”

Dad, please answer. I’m in a hurry Someone is going to kidnap the Sun. How can I help her?”

Performance-concert for children from 6 to 9 years old.

May 21 6 p.m. Musical performance “Baltaragio’s Mill” (directed by M. Mičiulytė)

Tickets here: https://kakava.lt/pirkti-bilietus/7687/14570

Miraculous events, revived myths, romantic love and the snares of the evil – this is the classic story of Kazi Boruta’s “Baltaragi’s Mill”, doomed to unfading popularity. The work of Lithuanian literature, in which the writer created a true Lithuanian epic by combining the form of a novel and the rich legacy of folklore, is being revived on the stage of the Alytus Theater in a musical format.

The musical performance “Baltaragis Malūnas” is the eternal struggle between good and evil, about the struggle between man and the devil for his soul and happy life, intertwined with the romantic love story of Girdvainis and Jurga. Supernatural phenomena, spells, evil forces defeat fragile human nature.

In this performance, as in the folklore, special attention is paid to the character of the devil – it seems that all life revolves around him. And has anyone thought why Pinčiuk acts like that? What are the motives for his behavior? The character of Pinčiukos in the play is not treated as a hostile and destructive force, not as the embodiment of evil, but as a young person who, due to his otherness, loneliness or character traits, is dehumanized, demonized, pulled to the fringes of society.

It is a human drama, a struggle against evil, which primarily symbolizes the Sisyphean struggle with fate. After all, human life is often ruled by unknown, foreign, even hostile forces that mortals cannot overcome. However, even in defeat, we can preserve our human dignity and proudly face the trials that fate sends us.

May 30 6 p.m. “Brothers and Sisters” (dir. Kiril Glushaev) N-14

Tickets here: https://kakava.lt/pirkti-bilietus/4154/14009

They say silence is a good thing. In the silence you can hear the sounds of music, you can hear nature in it. It is said that the truth speaks in silence, that we listen to ourselves in it, but there are other silences as well. Constricting. Those who try to bury what is dreamy, painful or expensive are also repulsive. This is often the case in families, relatives, and among the closest people. “Brothers and Sisters” will invite everyone who misses simple stories about the relationships, feelings and experiences of ordinary people who are “everyone”, who are “like everyone else”, but surprise everyone when it comes to the division of inheritance. One brother and three sisters will meet with questions of wealth and it will be very interesting, what makes it so important: DADDY, DO YOU LOVE ME?”.

ATTENTION: profanity, profanity, tobacco products, stage smoke are used during the performance.
