After winning the hearts of the Lebanese for weeks and giving them the top spot on the “America’s Gate Talent” program, he directed Mia’s band A harsh criticism of the politicians of the country, which is mired in the worst economic and life crisis of recent decades.
Nadim Cherfan, founder and choreographer of the band, denounced the political class, calling for a “revolution” in Lebanon since his arrival in Beirut on Friday.
On the heads of politicians
Cherfan said yesterday upon his arrival at Beirut airport: “We don’t need you, we were able to raise Lebanon’s name without you,” Agence France-Presse reported Saturday.
He also stressed that citizens must be freed, “destroy all banks and turn the country upside down and the tables are on the heads of all politicians”.
In addition, he added, addressing the politicians: “Your duty is to feed the hungry people and provide electricity.”
Interestingly, dozens of relatives of the troupe’s dancers greeted them yesterday with flowers at Beirut airport, after thousands of Lebanese were stuck in front of television screens to follow the troupe’s arrival, a source of pride for them at a time when their country was devastated by an unprecedented economic and political crisis.
The victory of this group represented a rare moment of unity in Lebanon, which is experiencing the worst crisis since its foundation.
Mayas has won $ 1 million in prize money after winning first place in the America’s Got Talent Finals, as well as the opportunity to perform in Las Vegas.
