The Federal League began last weekend with 101 teams and, despite the restriction of only four majors, many are betting on the experience of players with a National League past. But not only on the court, but also off it, since several former players with a great past in the Argentine basketball elite will be directing the different teams.
And there are two that stand out from the rest, like Maxi Maciel and Adrián Boccia. The shooter decided to take down his shoes and accepted the call from Diego Cavaco, who is coaching Kimberley, to join the Dragon of Mar del Plata. Between them they add more than 1600 games in the highest category. Boccia, for his part, returned to his second home, Rosario Provincial, and shares a team with a history like Pablo Fernández, with more than a hundred games in the League and being a benchmark for Argentine promotion.
Another duo of player and coach with a history in the top is in Ferro de General Pico, with Pablo Orlietti on the field and Diego Alba on the substitute bench, making his debut as head coach.
But if we talk about coaches, undoubtedly the one with the most laurels is Marcelo Richotti, who is spending his second Federal under the command of Guillermo Brown from Puerto Madryn. The Bahian was a huge player, with 651 games, and one of the greatest coaches, with 534 games led in the National League.
For the list we took into account those who played more than 100 games in the League as players.
