If you have been to one of the “Latvian Car of the Year” test days in the shopping center “Mols” – you will probably come again this time. If not – we want to tell you what opportunities to get acquainted with car news this event offers.
In the competitions of this kind, which take place all over the world (with us since 1998), the title of the youngest cars of the car manufacturers is competing for the title. They are studied, the members of the jury ride with them, then they tell you about their impressions in the media. And at the end of the year, both the jury and the online people’s vote vote. Okay, of course. But it can be even better. A couple of years ago, a unique experiment was started in cooperation at t / c “Mols”. Let’s give a ride to everyone who wants it! Of course, a driver’s license is required. Of course, the trip will not be as long as for the jury, because there are a lot of people and the day is short. Fifteen minutes through the streets of Riga. But those are your kilometers! It will be your feelings and sympathies that will wake up (or maybe disappear). Asis Jansons, the chairman of our jury, keeps repeating that it is impossible to find the “best” and suitable car for all thousands of tastes. But yours can! If not for immediate purchase, then as an active life stimulating goal. It is probably best done at the shopping center “Mols”.

As you can see, the spectrum is comprehensive. Crossovers – starting from the highest “premium” shelves (MB), continuing at the price level of about 20,000 euros (Juke, Puma, 2008). For high-speed long-distance lovers – also “premium” (BMW 5 Series). And the opportunity to directly confront it with just a little shorter, but twice as cheap “Škoda Octavia”.
The compact class entices the first date with the new eighth generation “Golf” and its close relative “Seat Leon”. Do you want to be completely green? “Mini Cooper SE” is on its way without sound and smoke!
Such are its travel possibilities. Waiting for your turn after the appointment (probably will have to, because, as already said – a lot of people want to) – additional attractions, such as a dexterity ride – with a special prize.
This year, the award “Mercedes-Benz GLC” for the weekend with a full fuel tank from the smart advertisement portal ZIP.lv. Will you be able to drive 900 km with one refill?

And last year, the opportunity to discuss your doubts and uncertainties about the choice of a new car in person (two meters!) Quickly became unquestionably the most competent (not directly interested in the sales results) people: jury members. “Latvian Car of the Year” will take you from 11:00 to 17:30) will be waiting for Atis Jansons, Normunds Avotiņš, Agris Staņēvičs and others – for several years they have been driving almost everything that the huge and variegated car market offers. Come, see, go, ask! Think. In November, you will also be able to vote for t / c Mols or online for your “People’s Sympathy”.
Admission to the event is free. Taking into account the existing restrictions, spectators must observe a distance of two meters or use a mouth and nose cover, which will also be available in the “Latvian Car of the Year” tent free of charge. In accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 360, people who have signs of respiratory illness or have to observe self-isolation must not be in the event area.
