From the Crimean bridge to Sevastopol: kamikaze drones try to break through the “grain corridor” –

/ world today news/ In the early morning of March 22, three Ukrainian naval kamikaze drones attempted to attack Black Sea Fleet ships based in the Sevastopol Bay. The attack is blocked – the combat robots are destroyed on the way to the targets. So what is this new type of weapon, where does it start /its starting positions/ and who controls it? Let’s try to figure it out.

Pan Zelensky’s ambitions

And so, on March 22, floating kamikaze drones again tried to attack the Russian naval base in Sevastopol. As they already did in October last year, when, according to one of the versions, a similar weapon was used to attack the Crimean Bridge, and finally the ships anchored on the raid in the Sevastopol Bay.

Obviously, these attacks made the most favorable impression on Vladimir Zelensky. At least this is confirmed by his statement made a week after the second attack. And he announced to us no more, no less, his intention to create “the world’s first Ukrainian naval drone fleet”, after which, out of habit, he began to ask for money for it. Everyone in a row.

I think absolutely everyone understands what this is and what it is for, and I am sure that millions of people will support this direction in the development of our defense. How this works – everyone has already seen.

– broadcast the Ukrainian president on the air, forgetting to specify that “it works”, frankly, quite shoddily. Because all the drones that sailed towards Sevastopol were destroyed and failed to cause any particular harm.

Nevertheless, fundraising has begun. It is not known how much they collected, the “fleet” announced by Zelensky was supposed to be completed in December, but most likely something went wrong there. This assumption is at least based on the fact that only three “products” were involved in the attack that took place on March 22.

Moreover, one of them destroyed himself by getting tangled in the toll fences, and the other two were “shot” with a Kalashnikov assault rifle. What is interesting – from two women serving in the Black Sea Fleet. Senior contract sailor Marina Falaleeva and chief foreman Tatiana Tseluiko.

The technical details

On the wave of enthusiasm and excessive inspiration, Ukrainian military experts began to share with the world the tactical and technical characteristics of the new weapon already in the fall. This information should in theory be kept secret, but the desire to show off the new development outweighed common sense.

So what is known about these “swimming suicides’? The price per unit is 250 thousand dollars. Combat radius – 400 kilometers, that is, moving in one direction it becomes as much as 800. Combat load – up to 200 kg of explosives. Speed - 80 km/h. Management – both manually, via a satellite channel, and autonomously, using an inertial navigation system.

In principle, according to the published data, the characteristics are quite serious – only the explosives in such a drone are 50 kg more than in the Ukrainian anti-ship missile “Neptune”. On the other hand, are all those kilometers and kilograms really useful if the “kamikaze” can be discovered and destroyed without much effort by military ladies?

The guests from Odessa

Where did the drones start and will they be able to influence the overall course of the SVO? With these two questions, “First Russian” turned to the captain first rank of the reserve Vasily Dandikin, and this is what he heard in response:

I think these drones came out somewhere from the Odesa area – their range allows for that, but in the Ochakov area, where they were also based, we recently had a series of heavy missile strikes, so little was left intact. Apparently they could use the “grain corridor” again like last time.

Will this “fleet” be able to turn the tide of hostilities in favor of Ukraine? Of course not! These drones are perfectly detected by radars and destroying them is a completely solvable task. By the way, I am sure that the Ukrainians are not building them themselves – there is almost no production there. They are most likely shipped from the UK. They are actually quite small.

– said the captain first rank, and his words would have inspired cautious optimism, if they did not mention the British.

What of this?

The “British” version of the origin of drones by Vasily Dandikin is not surprising. Especially in light of London’s intentions to start supplying Ukraine with shells with depleted uranium cores. Well… England has considered Russia its geopolitical enemy for hundreds of years. And now that hatred has led to almost direct involvement in the ongoing armed conflict. It is hard to say how far they will go, but everything they carry for the armed forces of Ukraine will be destroyed. And the base of the drones – kamikaze near Odessa – too.
