From the 30th, take off the indoor mask… except for public transportation and hospitals

From tomorrow (30th), the obligation to wear masks indoors will be lifted, except for hospitals and public transportation.

The Central Defense Countermeasures Headquarters announced that it will convert the obligation to wear masks indoors to recommendations after about 27 months since wearing masks indoors was made mandatory due to Corona 19.

As a result, wearing a mask is voluntary, not mandatory, at schools, kindergartens, daycare centers, senior citizens’ centers, gyms, and swimming pools.

However, the obligation to wear a mask will continue to be maintained at facilities vulnerable to infection, such as medical institutions, pharmacies, nursing hospitals, and welfare facilities for the disabled, and public transportation.

You must wear a mask even in your school vehicle, which is equivalent to public transportation.

In order to prevent confusion, the quarantine authorities have posted mask-wearing quarantine guidelines at facilities that are obligatory to wear masks, informing them that they are ‘mandatory facilities to wear’.

In addition, it is strongly recommended to wear a mask if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have recently been in contact with a confirmed case, in a high-risk group, in a close, dense, or closed environment with difficult ventilation, or in a crowded situation.
