“Bokrijk must return 17 buildings to the city of Antwerp”
Gazette of Antwerp organized an April Fools’ joke himself, together with Antwerp’s alderman for Tourism Koen Kennis. According to the aldermen, Open Air Museum Bokrijk in Genk must urgently return a series of historic buildings to the city of Antwerp. The seventeen houses once stood proudly in the historic Vleeshuis district, but were demolished in the 1960s, when the city began to rehabilitate the most neglected and war-damaged parts. The buildings eventually ended up in the Bokrijk Open Air Museum in Genk. But times change. Today, on April 1, Antwerp Alderman for Tourism Koen Kennis (N-VA) believes that Bokrijk should return that piece of Antwerp’s heritage. We wrote an article to give the April joke even more cachet.

Square tomato ‘Square Délice’
The tomatoes have been harvested since this week. Tomato grower Den Berk Délice from Hoogstraten took advantage of the fact that this coincided with 1 April. Under the name ‘Square Délice’, the grower pranked us with his latest product: square tomatoes. Not only is the square tomato very useful, as all your tomato pieces will be equal, it would also change your quality of life. Unfortunately, these tomatoes do not exist yet.
