Jakarta –
A number of national officials such as the defense minister Prabowo Subianto to the minister of religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas already present in Masjid Raya Sheikh Zayed Al-Nahyan in Gilingan, Banjarsari district, Solo. The mosque will be inaugurated this morning by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
Reported detik Jateng, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, Military Commander IV/Diponegoro, Central Java Regional Police Chief and the Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimoen present on site. Officials arrived at the scene starting at 0630 WIB.
Other invited guests have also started arriving at the mosque which is located in Gilingan, Banjarsari district, Solo. They will be escorted using the shuttle bus that has been arranged.
Meanwhile, residents of the surrounding community have also begun to arrive to witness the inauguration of this magnificent mosque. Residents flocked to a number of places across the road from the mosque, a gift from the Prince of the UAE.
Residents and school children were seen queuing on the side of Jalan Ahmad Yani or to be precise in front of the main mosque in Gilingan, Banjarsari district, Solo. They also filled the area on the street east of the mosque.
Some residents and students were seen carrying red and white flags. One of the residents, Udin, admitted arriving at the scene at 06.30 WIB.
