From Politkovskaya to Didion, lives of illustrious journalists. Told by journalists

Giornaliste, the project of the Circolo dei Readers Foundation and storielibere.fm created by Annalisa Camilli, is back, in which a journalist tells the story, life and works of a journalist from the past who changed journalism, underlining the points of contact with her own work, passion and difficulties, illuminating the contribution that these often forgotten women have brought to the profession. The meetings of this third season, whose partner is Banca d’Alba, recorded at the Turin Readers’ Club also become podcasts, created by storielibere.fm and available on all audio platforms, starting from 27 November.

The first appointment is scheduled for Tuesday 14 November, with Sara Giudice, journalist at Piazza Pulita on La7 and author of A mother. Life and passion for truth by Anna Politkovskaya; Tuesday 21 November the writer and translator Claudia Durastanti talks about Clarice Lispector; Tuesday 5 December Nadeesha Uyangoda, a writer for international and Italian media such as Al Jazeera English, The Telegraph, Vice, L’essenziale, La Repubblica talks about the career and life of Elvira Banotti; finally on Tuesday 12 December the creator of Giornaliste and journalist of Internazionale Annalisa Camilli draws a portrait of Joan Didion.

Sara Giudice talks about Anna Politkovskaja

Anna Politkovskaja is a Russian journalist killed at the age of forty-eight, in 2006 in Moscow. She became an icon of freedom of expression, she had long denounced the authoritarian drift of Putin’s government and the violations of human rights in Chechnya. Sara Giudice, author of A mother.
