The latest in chronological order is the one to establish the ‘National Italian Panettone Day‘. And it was presented to the Chamber on July 29. But wanting to celebrate the themes of the heart with ‘ad hoc’ days seems to be the passion of many parliamentarians in this legislature.
Currently, between the House and the Senate, there are over 70 proposed laws, although some are actually duplicates. Among the most ‘popular’ are those to restore November 4th as ‘Armed Forces Day‘: six provisions, already become law; those against the “violence in stadiums” – some of which also to remember the inspector Philip Racitiwho died in Catania in 2007 during the incidents triggered by the ultras – or for the “victims of the Heysel Stadium”: seven texts assigned to the Commission whose examination has not begun; those to celebrate “Italians in the world“: 4 in total with the exam not yet started.

Among the most curious are certainly, in addition to the one in honor of the “Italian panettone” signed by Daniela Dondi of Brothers of Italy, the one to establish the “National Ecospirituality Day” Of Carmen di Lauro of the 5 Star Movement; the one to celebrate the “motorcycle culture” Of Giandomenico La Salandra (Fdi); the one in defense of the “handwriting” and that to remember “female protagonists in the world of comics” Of Federica Honors of the M5s. But it is difficult that 365 days are enough to commemorate all the themes indicated by deputies and senators because there are also those, like Micaela Biancofiore e Martina Seedlingwould like to dedicate a day against “il body-shaming” and who like Simona Loizzo (League) aims to celebrate the ‘Gregorian calendar‘.
In short, every month, if we count from the beginning of the legislature, about three proposals of this type have been presented. So, scrolling through the list, we discover that they would like to dedicate a “World Day” to “inventory” e “to intellectual property“, as proposed by the president of the Culture Commission of the Chamber Federico Mollicone (FdI); to the “Wonder” (to raise awareness of the pain of children experiencing war); to the “nascent life“; to the “historical clothes“, as requested Anna Maria Falucchi (FdI), a text that has already become law. There are also very serious proposals of significant historical importance, such as the one signed by George Mulè (FI) to remember the Italian internees in German concentration camps or like that of You have to do it (Avs) against the “Roma Genocide“. But also that of Paul Emilio Russo (FI) to commemorate the “journalists killed while carrying out their work“, currently under consideration in the House.
The League has signed the largest number of measures to establish the ‘National Days’, having filed about thirty. It is followed by Fratelli d’Italia, with about twenty, and Forza Italia, with about ten. In opposition, the most active are the 5 Star Movement with about seven proposals. Some, however, had already been presented in previous legislatures, such as the one in memory of the fallen of “Great Turin” and for the “National Awakening Day“, for research on coma. Of all these bills, about five have been approved so far: the one for the Armed Forces, the first bill is Maurizio Gasparri (FI); for the establishment of the Agriculture Day; the one for the Ancient clothes; for the “urban outskirts” Of Alexander Battilocchio (FI). Those for the “d” are almost heresafe fun” and for “veterinary prevention“.
